THE CORE TEAM

BUILT ON THE INSIGHTS OF VETERAN OFFICERS AND SOCIAL WORKERS
The CORE team brings a wealth of experience and expertise to its mission of transforming public safety. Our consulting team has experience in a range of areas, including organizational-change management, education, professional development training, curriculum development, and organizational development. The team also has worked in process, performance and productivity enhancement and has done innovative senior-level consulting and management to maximize operational effectiveness.

Key members of the CORE team are:

Lt. Seth Stanley | I was born and raised in my hometown of Muncie, Ind. My wife and I have two daughters. I’ve been part of the Muncie Police Department since 2000, when I started out as a midnight-shift patrol officer. Since then my work has included field training, narcotics investigations, criminal investigations and leading a SWAT team. I’m presently a lieutenant with the MPD. I’m constantly motivated to mentor and lead people in my professional and personal life. CORE helps me in accomplishing this goal and is a key part of my own personal growth. I look forward to sharing my own knowledge and experiences with each of you.
Lt. Seth Stanley

Sgt. Mike Baker
Sgt. Mike Baker (ret.) | I’m a retired Police Sergeant with the Ball State University Police Department, where I served for 36 years. I was a certified Indiana Law Enforcement Academy instructor in firearms, psychomotor skills and general studies, and I’ve also been an accreditation manager for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. My lovely wife Deirdre and I have been married for more than 40 years. I spend my spare time as a musician, and I also build modified street rods. I’m involved in my church, and I volunteer at a local grade school and food pantry. I use CORE every day in my own life, so being a CORE instructor is meaningful to me.

Sgt. Anthony (Tony) Hurst | I began my career in law enforcement in 2011 and presently work for the Ball State University Police Department. I’ve worked in investigations, field training, supervision and training. My passion is in teaching and training, and I’m currently an instructor in the areas of active-shooter (for both civilian and emergency personnel), Tac-Med, patrol rifle, shotgun and handgun. I’ve earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and master’s degrees in Executive Development for Public Service and Adult and Community Education. I believe continual education and improvement are the keys to a successful career in policing.
